Create Business Cards
It may sound old school, but according to AMP Talent, one of the first ways to promote yourself as an actor is to “create business cards that have your headshot. These are much easier and more effective to hand out when you meet people at networking events or other important industry people than handing out your full-sized headshot and resume.”
2. Have Your Own Website
Websites are a place where you the actor can display your headshots, demo reel and actor’s resume. A tip about websites to be sure that you keep it updated. There’s plenty of inexpensive website hosting platforms you can use to build your own website such as, Wix, Weebly, and SquareSpace.
3. Build Your Social Media Presence
According to The Independent Initiative, “your social media presence are all an
unofficial resume. It’s highly likely that a casting agent will have looked up one of
your social media pages before calling you back so use them as reasons to want
to see you again.” It also states that “having a social media presence is always
your own choice, but it’s steadily becoming a right of passage and a necessary
part of holding a solid reputation within the film community.”
